Every country has a few things that belong to it and nobody else: a famous building, a strange map shape, a flag you canβt mistake, or an animal that lives nowhere else in the wild. Put two or three of those together and you have a riddle that can only point to one place on the globe.
These 30 country riddles start with the landmarks almost everyone knows, move on to flags, capitals and wildlife in the medium round, and finish with tricky clues that will send even geography fans to the map. Every country appears only once, and every clue is true. Keep a globe or a world map nearby to check your answers.

How to Play Guess the Country
- Clue by clue: read only the first clue of a riddle and let players guess. If nobody gets it, read the next clue. A correct guess on the first clue earns 3 points, on the second 2 points, and on the third 1 point.
- Map race: give each team a blank world map. After every answer, the first team to point to the country on the map wins the round.
- Flag match: for the flag riddles (France, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Switzerland and Nepal), have kids draw the flag before the answer is read. Itβs a quick art and geography lesson in one.
- Write your own: each player picks a country and writes two true clues that could only fit that one place. Swap and solve.
